CODEMKRS is Louisiana's premiere hackathon organization dedicated to fixing problems using technology teams.
CODEMKRS is organized by New Orleans Native Travis Laurendine and presented by The Louisiana Technology Council under Executive Director Lindsay Hamlin.
CODEMKRS Super Challenge was organized in conjunction with the Tech Committee for the Super Bowl Host Committee. The event brought together developers and programmers from New Orleans and around the world to build webapps in advance of Super Bowl XVII to help visitors to New Orleans have a great experience. Since there were so many ideas for apps and little opportunity for developers to engage with the big game directly, Travis proposed that a hackathon be created to galvanize the technology community to do its part to ensure that visitors to the city have a great time and that they leave New Orleans with technology as part of their fond memories.
Thanks to the support of The Louisiana Technology Council, CODEMKRS lives on after the Super Challenge to organize more hands-on technology events.
